The annual Summer of Arcade on XBLA starts up today with the release of the critically acclaimed Bastion.

An action/RPG from SuperGiant and Warner Bros, Bastion was the recipient of numerous ‘Best of e3’ awards and looks like a real beauty. It also touts one very interesting narration system:

Bastion, developed by Supergiant Games and distributed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, features lush and imaginative artwork as well as an innovative reactive narration system that responds to players’ actions in real time. As players journey into the wild unknown, they will confront strange beasts, forge an array of customizable weapons, and gain new powers from specially-brewed spirits as they become immersed in the game’s rich atmosphere.

Bastion is available now for 1200mspts

  • The graphics caught my eye the first time I saw some posted screen shots, but the game itself looks interesting as well. There's usually 1 or 2 great summer of arcade games, and 1 or 2 meh titles. Thankfully this one looks to fall into the former and not the latter category.
