Text-based detective game Cold Case announced for PC
Banjiha Games and Sandyfloor have announced text-based detective game Cold Case for PC. Following a fire at a police inspector’s home, use digital forensics and enter keywords into an in-game computer to recover passages that couldn’t be found in the home. Restoring text reveals new clues in photographs, giving you new keywords to try. There are eight unsolved cases.
Here are the key features of the game, via Sandyfloor:
- Become a Cold Case investigator and restore cases lost to the flames – investigate case files and documents found in an inspector’s fire-damaged home, piecing together clues to uncover the truth.
- Use your digital forensic skills – Search for keywords in the damaged document files to restore text fragments and witness statements containing those words.
- Search the crime scenes for clues – As you uncover more fragments, you also restore photographs and the hidden clues within them.
- Call the Chief – Dig through the uncovered text and reply to key questions to solve the cold cases and untangle the truth behind each case and what role they played in the death of Inspector Kimball.
Developed by Banjiha Games and published by Sandyfloor, Cold Case will be released for PC via Steam in the first half of 2027.

Spirit Crossing’s PC release date revealed, Switch versions announced
Spry Fox announced that its cozy MMO Spirit Crossing will be released later this month, and not just for PC: it will also be released for Switch 2 and Switch! The game is already available for smartphones via Netflix, but this is the first time players can actually purchase it and not rely on a subscription. (Yay!) The game is about making a home in a strange land, and is built around shared joy and creative expression. Wander, gather, build, fish, paint, and sometimes do nothing together.
The inhabitants of the Crosslands are a little peculiar, and range from humans to talking bears to wandering spirits. The game features extensive avatar customization, as well as a way to build and decorate spaces from the ground up. Permissions are also highly customizable, so you can decide how to interact with the people you meet.
Developed and published by Spry Fox, Spirit Crossing will be released for PC via Steam, Switch 2, and Switch on November 16.
Petit Planet launches this December for PC, Switch 2 in 2027
miHoYo announced it will release free-to-play cosmic life sim game Petit Planet for PC, iOS, and Android this December. It also announced a Switch 2 version, coming in 2027.
Here is a description of the game, via miHoYo:
In Petit Planet, players take on the role of Planet Tenders, journeying to the Starsea on the back of Oumuamua, a Starsea Spirit said to listen to the wishes in people’s hearts. On their very own planet, they plant a Luca Seed that gradually grows into a Luca Arbour, shaping the planet’s landscape, seasons, and ecosystem over time. Life on the planet is never lonely. Planet Coordinator Mobai and Starsea Racer Elsasani are the first to welcome each Planet Tender to their new home, with more Neighbours arriving over time, each with their own stories to tell. As players get to know their Neighbours, chance encounters can blossom into lasting friendships. Beyond life on their home planet, players can set sail across the Starsea to explore its scattered Islets, or head to the Galactic Bazaar to enjoy games, take part in auctions, and share their creations.
Developed and published by miHoYo, Petit Planet will be released for iOS/Android and PC via Epic on December 4. The Switch 2 version will launch next year.
