Today, PQube and Crinkle Cut Games released a major free update for the quirky supermarket life sim Discount. The People or Profit? Expansion launched last month for PC via Steam, and is now available for PC via GOG/Epic, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series, and Xbox One. It includes a new post-story chapter and new gameplay features.

Manage your own discount supermarket! Get caught up in small-town drama, organize and plan your shop’s layout, and strike lucrative trade deals as you expand your secretive aunt’s business empire. Selling more frozen fries will surely heal this broken community…right?
The Expansion takes place after the game’s original ending. Aunt Tellar finally puts you in charge, and the fate of Discounty—and Blomkest—is in your hands. Depending on the decisions you make and the people you align with, you will see one of three new endings. This chapter features three new eccentric characters. Gaspard is Tammt’s disgraced brother who wants to run a hydroponic farm. Angeel is a bougie city girl opening a branch of a luxury grocery store. Casey is a troubled teen who sells “legitimate” goods from the trunk of his car.
Per PQube, the People of Profit? Expansion also includes:
- Town Restoration: Take on renovations big and small to restore Blomkest to its former glory! Help Solruna get back her old shop, reopen the long-neglected John Key museum, pry open the mysterious old shed…or erect Discounty billboards all over town.
- Shop Gadgets: Players can discover Jürgen’s old workshop to create advanced gadgets that bring their shop into the modern age. From a self-checkout register to an online order fulfilment system, there are plenty of new options to enhance the store.
- Choose Your Items: Players can now select which items they want to stock in their shop and, with the inclusion of 35 new items, there are plenty of options to choose from.
- Shop Events: Random events will force players to shift their tactics, making no two shop days the same.
- Buy a House: Move out of Aunt Tellar’s old trailer and into a bigger, permanent house.
