The Pokémon Company has announced that Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass—Part 1: Bubbly Basin will launch next week. It has also unveiled a new trailer and new details about Part 2 of the DLC. In addition, every player who owns the base game will receive the V 2.0.0 software update, which adds the ability to learn the move Dive. Once Dive is learned, you can swim alongside Water-type Pokémon and build underwater.
Before I get into the details, it’s important to know about the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass DLC that was announced earlier this week. It is additional paid content that includes three content add-ons. As I stated, Part 1 is Bubbly Basin. It introduces an underwater town with Pokémon living in the sea. You can get ocean-themed furniture and new outfits for Ditto. Part 2 is scheduled to launch late this year and include Pokémon-themed outfits, more furniture, and new Pokémon. Part 3, launching in 2027, includes another new town.
Here are the newly revealed details for Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass—Part 1: Bubbly Basin, via The Pokémon Company:
In Part 1, players can look forward to making a splash in the new underwater town, Bubbly Basin. In this submerged space, players can grow watermelons with the help of Pokémon with the Water specialty, while Pokémon with the Generate specialty can power bubble machines or activate streetlights. Players can also discover more Pokémon, new outfits, a power-up for the move Surf, and a newly added prepared food – smoothies.
Players can traverse a hole in the sea floor to explore the deep sea shrouded in darkness and enjoy an exciting adventure alongside Pokémon by following the glowing coral.
Building reaches a new depth in Bubbly Basin with buoyant blocks, which allow players to make buildings that are only possible underwater, floating at different levels. Players can also build a Sharpedo submarine to make a room which feels like a Secret Base.
Developed by Game Freak and Koei Tecmo, and published by The Pokémon Company, Pokémon Pokopia is now available for Switch 2. Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass—Part 1: Bubbly Basin will be released on August 5.
