Forsaker: DingDing & Blade follows Papeti. She is a Forsaker: someone who looks human but has the instinct to devour their own kind. Her nature clashes with her need for love and freedom. Battles involve deckbuilding and roguelike elements, though there is an option to play the game as only a visual novel. Today, developer BladeLantern Studios and publisher Infini Fun announced that Forsaker: DingDing & Blade would be released later for PC via Steam later this month.
The game is set on the war-torn continent of Herl, home to a cursed race known as the Foragers. Its heroine, Papeti, longs for love… but her journey is destined to be a struggle for survival. The story is told through POV-style narration, and the artwork is hand-painted and inspired by gothic fantasy art. It begins with separate player storylines that eventually converge to reveal shocking truths.
Here is more about the battle system, via a press release:
Experience deckbuilding card battles that enable offence, defence, and support playstyles. Unlock allies throughout the story to unleash devastating strategies. Roguelike elements with randomized routes, events, and enemies ensure each run is a fresh and challenging experience. Or, turn on “Lazy Mode,” and experience the game as a pure visual novel, focusing on the choices and emotional bonds between characters.
Developed by BladeLantern Studios and published by Infini Fun, Forsaker: DingDing & Blade will be released for PC via Steam on September 24.
