The key art for Wish Upon A Cat.

To celebrate Odencat’s sixth anniversary, the developer has announced that its short and sweet adventure title Wish Upon A Cat will be launched for PC via Steam in early August. Players will travel through the studio’s history while trying to find and cheer up its eponymous mascot. There are also some familiar faces from Odencat’s other games (including Fishing Paradiso, which I am still obsessed with).

“It’s always heartwarming to see how our fanbase receives each of our releases,” said Odencat CEO and Founder Daigo Sato in a press release. “As a thank you to our fans, we made this free game to celebrate our anniversary together! We hope you enjoy meeting our characters from our previous titles, and I hope that we can continue to deliver emotional stories that will stay with our fans’ hearts for many more years!”

Here is Odencat’s description of Wish Upon A Cat:

In this short adventure, the protagonist finds themselves sucked into the Odencat multiverse and forced to track down the studio’s beloved mascot, whose inexplicable temper tantrum is threatening to cause a second Big Bang! The story unfolds from a mysterious apartment building where dimensional gateways to popular Odencat titles like Bear’s Restaurant, Snowman Story, Fishing Paradiso, and Meg’s Monster have opened up. Players will have to track down the Oden-loving cat through these intertwined realities in order to prevent a total interdimensional collapse.

Wish Upon A Cat might be short and sweet, but it’s full of heart and sounds like a great thank you to Odencat’s fans. Players must gather clues by speaking to a variety of unique (and sometimes familiar!) characters in colourful locations. The bittersweet story promises to leave a lasting impression.

Developed and published by Odencat, Wish Upon A Cat will be released for PC via Steam on August 6.

She has has developed a great love of life sims and FMV titles. For her, accessibility is one of the most important parts of any game (but she also really appreciates good UI).
