This year’s Women-Led Games is hosted by Briana White (Final Fantasy VII Remake & Rebirth) and co-hosted by Rebecca Ford (Warframe Creative Director) and Megan Everett (Community Director). Women either lead the titles, or they have majority-women teams. Major announcements are imminent: Soulframe, We Were Here Tomorrow, Come to My Party, and more. The showcase will feature five world premieres and four release-date reveals.
Game highlights
Letter Lost (FlatNine Games)
In Letter Lost, you awaken in a cozy dungeon beneath a post office. You are the sole employee of Kharnym Isle Post Office, and it is your responsibility to stamp, sort, and deliver the mail for the island’s residents. Okay, your room is a creepy one, with a bed and four stone walls covered in scratch marks—best ignore that! Obviously, considering the situation, something unsettling is happening. You cannot leave the post office. You don’t pay rent. All you deal with is the mail and the island’s residents. Search for clues, solve puzzles, and if you’re lucky, find a way out of the post office.
Koshmar: The Last Reverie (Purple Ray Studio)
Koshmar: The Last Reverie is set in a retrofuturistic world inspired by 19th-century Central Europe. It combines gothic and steampunk aesthetics. The game features world-building, novel mechanics which fall somewhere in the spectrum between dreams and nightmares, and agency when navigating the waking world or the dreamworld. The type of action depends on Violet’s abilities, upgrades, and skills. There are multiple endings with variable factors, and player choices shape the world.
Inferius (Lucid Rain Studio)
Inferius is a first-person horror roguelike deckbuilder, inspired by Lovecraftian mythos and the essence of Danté’s Inferno. The further you descend, the more your sanity fractures. Descend through nine dominions, each embodying a sin. Each ruler defeated grants new power, but also further distorts perception. Your lifeline? A lantern that illuminates paths, solves puzzles, reveals secrets, and prevents the descent into madness.
Taste of Heaven (Chromatic Dreams)
Taste of Heaven, set in the birthplace of the Universe, blends cooking gameplay with RPG progression and roguelite replayability. Take on the role of a chef serving waves of hungry gods, godlings, and wandering souls. Each customer is unique, with their own personality and fun dialogue. The recipe system encourages creativity and experimentation. Spirited Away inspires the beautiful world.
