Welcome to my first-ever highlight article for Fellow Traveller’s Story-Rich Showcase! Being fair, though, it is the first one. Fellow Traveller is a game publisher that wants story-rich games to shine—and not just theirs. Today’s presentation includes new games, new trailers, and world premieres. There are a few crossover games with other showcases, but that’s to be expected.

Game highlights

Apple Crumble (Happy Broccoli Games)

Launches for PC/Mac/Linux in 2026.

Developed by the team behind the Duck Detective games, Apple Crumble is an interactive mystery inspired by things like Mouthwashing and Knives Out. In the game, it’s your granny’s birthday, and someone is trying to murder her. All your family members are suspects, as is the strange man in your childhood bedroom. Explore the home, reconnect with your family, and learn who to trust before teatime.

Penguin Colony (Origame Digital)

Launches for PC this year.

Penguin Colony sounds like a cute, cozy game—but don’t get it twisted; it’s actually a reimagining of Lovecraft stories such as At the Mountains of Madness… told through the eyes of a penguin. As a penguin in Antarctica, explore the open environment by waddling, sliding, and swimming. Two factions have been drawn to Antarctica, and you uncover the fate of both. One wants to harness the power of an ancient being behind comprehension, and the other wants to return the creature to its slumber.

Detective Turner: If Looks Could Kill (Riker, All Day All Night)

In development for PC via Steam.

Detective Turner: If Looks Could Kill is a text-driven noir murder mystery where you literally read the room. You need to solve the murder of fashion icon Margot Voss, found dead during a private evening with friends, lovers, and colleagues. Each has their own history, and each has something to gain. Uncover clues and confront suspects with the evidence you collect. If something feels off, you can take a Polaroid photo and add it to your diary. As the case progresses, it becomes more personal and the line between duty and obsession blurs.

Janet DeMornay is a Slumlord (and a Witch) (Fuzzy Ghost)

Launches for PC/Mac and PlayStation 5 soon.

Renting a home is, quite frankly, terrifying. It’s even worse when you end up with a slumlord, and I’m looking at you, Janet DeMornay. Janet DeMornay is a Slumlord (and a Witch) is an escape-room horror-comedy about the horror of living in a world run by landlords… but Janet DeMornay is special because she is also a witch. Follow members of a queer-share, inner-Sydney house as they try to both escape the house and escape the hauntings caused by the landlord.

Lindsay picked up an NES controller for the first time at the age of 6 and instantly fell in love. She began reviewing GBA games 20 years ago and quickly branched out from her Nintendo comfort zone. She has has developed a great love of life sims and FMV titles. For her, accessibility is one of the most important parts of any game (but she also really appreciates good UI).
