Cozy creativity and animal management sims collide yet again in Planet Zoo 2, Frontier Developments’ sequel to its popular 2019 game. It focuses more on conservation than its predecessor, and introduces new animals (including aviaries and aquariums!). Construct beautiful habitats where species can interact with their environment. Take your conservation efforts outside of your zoos by restoring natural habitats and releasing animals into Wildlife Reserves. Planet Zoo 2 is set to launch for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox this October.
The animals in Planet Zoo 2 feature high-fidelity fur, feathers, and scales, as well as authentic behaviour. Each animal has their own needs, including specific habitats that mirror their natural environment. Aquatic species make their debut in the series: Black-tipped Reef Sharks, Hawksbill Turtles, and colourful shoals of fish are just some of the animals joining the franchise. Aquariums aren’t placeable tanks: they are fully customizable habitats that give you control over scenery, location, and more. Aviaries are also being introduced to the series, from the vibrant Toco Toucan and majestic Secretary Bird. Aviaries are also fully editable; they introduce support polls allowing you to generate habitat covers. Guests can even walk through suitable aviaries.
The game’s meaningful management experience includes everything from ensuring animals remain in their habitats to creating immersive spaces for guests to interact and learn. Manage staff morale and train to construct the perfect habitats. Balance guest satisfaction and animal well-being for a successful zoo.
All digital pre-orders of Planet Zoo 2 will include a Bonus Content Pack that features the Toucan Eat shop and signage, three unique animal donation bins, and a tiger photo stand-in wall. In addition to the standard edition of a game, there is also a Deluxe Edition. It features an additional six animal species from across the globe (Golden Eagle, Golden Lion Tamarin, Great Hammerhead Shark, Axolotl, Blue and Gold Fusilier, and Longfin Batfish) and a selection of exclusive animal signs.
Developed and published by Frontier Developments, Planet Zoo 2 will be released for PC via Steam/Epic, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series on October 13. More information will be shared during the Wholesome Games Showcase and PC Gaming Show next week.
