Chop Chop Inc. announced for PC

Build your own furniture empire in the chaotic crafting game Chop Chop Inc., announced last week. The cozy crafting game is filled with weirdos, secrets, and trees begging for violence. The game combines crafting with chaotic comedy. It should be easy to chop wood, craft furniture, sell it, and grow your business. Start with an axe and a dream before mastering furniture crafting, expanding your empire, and unlocking the chaos.

Here is a partial description of the game, via NullRef Entertainment:

After getting fired from the mighty Furnox Corp., you start over with nothing but an axe, a few trees, and a burning desire for revenge (and maybe profit). Trees come in all shapes, sizes, colours, and occasionally defy the laws of physics, but if it stands upright and looks vaguely choppable… congratulations, it’s firewood now. Logs are cut into planks, planks become furniture, and furniture becomes cash, letting you slowly build a small business into a full-blown furniture empire.

Developed by NullRef Entertainment, Chop Chop Inc. will be released after this year for PC via Steam.

Minos launches this week

Slay heroes while shaping a sentient labyrinth reimagined from Greek Mythology in Minos, launching this week for PC. In the labyrinth-building strategic puzzle game, you protect the Minotaur from so-called heroes attempting to invade his sanctuary and murder him for fame and glory.

Minos expands upon (and adds agency to) the story about former king Asterion, cursed to live as the Minotaur, and Daedalus, the genius creator of the sentient labyrinth. Devise devious plans and drag walls, gates, and corridors to shape the labyrinth as you wish. Clever or cruel, it’s up to you. Every run brings new enemies and new traps. No two nights are ever the same.

Developed by Artifcer and published by Devolver Digital, Minos will be released on April 9 for PC via Steam.

Songs of Glimmerwick launches this year

Step into a magic academy in Songs of Glimmerwick with the game’s latest gameplay trailer. Four years after revealing the story-driven RPG, developer Eastshade Studios has also announced the title will launch this year for PC and soon after for consoles, with a demo dropping on April 7. The academy is set in a woodland fantasy world where playing music casts spells. Attend classes, join clubs, make friends, discover oddities, and uncover mysteries.

Here are the game’s key features, via Eastshade Studios:

  • RPG Style Quests: Unfolding narrative quests with a focus on unique characters and story.
  • Tend the University Garden: Plant the mundane! Grow the arcane! Summon up clouds to bring forth the rain!
  • Every Song a Spell: Use the power of music to speak with the trees, enchant tools to work all by themselves, raise the earth to surmount natural impasses, and more!
  • Character Progression: As you gain experience in your adventures, choose from skills which will help you garden, trade, or acquire special abilities, like speaking to frogs!
  • A Lively World: Classes to attend, mysterious rumours, local drama, and bustling festivals — The students, staff, townsfolk, and spritely creatures of Glimmerwick have rich stories and lives.
  • Fully Voiced: Dialogue is brought to life with fantastic performances for every character, major and minor.
  • Customizable Appearance: Choose how you look.
  • Extra Curricular Activities: There’s lots to do in Glimmerwick outside of classes – explore the island, dive for seashells, or join the Green Sprites on forest expeditions.

Developed by Eastshade Studios, Songs of Glimmerwick will be released later this year for PC.

She has has developed a great love of life sims and FMV titles. For her, accessibility is one of the most important parts of any game (but she also really appreciates good UI).
