Nintendo has released a new five-minute trailer for Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park, featuring its new ways to play solo or multiplayer. This latest version of Super Mario Bros. Wonder includes new co-op and competitive gameplay to the Flower Kingdom, plus new content and enhancements only for Switch 2. Bellabel Park is a new area that features two large plazas with various attractions. Team up or face off with your friends in challenges like Fast Cash: Tip Tap’s Coin Spree and Knock ‘em Back: Bubble Blaster.
The two plazas are Local Multiplayer Plaza and Game Room Plaza. Local Multiplayer Plaza features 17 types of attractions that allow players to play with up to three friends on the same game system. Since the game supports GameShare, one game owner can share it locally with up to three other players. Game Room Plaza supports online and local wireless play. Up to 12 friends can compete against each other in six attractions.
Other features new to this edition of the game include:
- Toad Brigade Training Camp: Found in Bellabel Park, players can test their skills across a wide variety of challenges set in courses from Super Mario Bros. Wonder. As you progress through the game, more training courses will unlock. Complete the objects on your own or with up to three other people to rise through the rankings of the Toad Brigade.
- Assist Mode: Described as being for new players, Assist Mode is also great for accessibility. Turn on this mode while you play the base game and get the ability to recover quickly without losing a life or taking damage — no matter which enemy! Assist Mode works with all playable characters.
- Rosalina & Luma: Rosalina has arrived in the Flower Kingdom for the first time! Of course, her Co-Star Luma is with her. Luma is an assist character that is available during multiplayer. She won’t take damage, she can spin to defeat enemies, and she can gather coins. Luma can also be controlled with the Switch 2 mouse control functionality.
- The Koopalings: Bellabel Park’s treasure has been stolen by the seven Koopalings, who have each fled to different worlds across the land. Find one to enter their course and engage in battle.
In addition, Nintendo has announced three new Amiibo: Elephant Mario, Poplin & Prince Florian, and Captain Toad & Talking Flower. It also announced a non-amiibo Talking Flower toy that seems rather useless.
Developed and published by Nintendo, Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park will be released digitally and physically for Switch 2 on March 26. Current owners of Super Mario Bros. Wonder can purchase its Upgrade Pack on the same day.
