Just in time for Valentine’s Day, otome visual novel Hakuoki SSL ~Sweet School Life~ will be released in English this February, both digitally and physically. It centres around heroine Chizuru Yukimura and the handsome legendary warriors of the Shinsengumi. Most of the series is set in Edo Japan, but this time the characters are members of a school in modern Japan.
Regardless of the era, school life antics ensue as the characters hold a school festival, stress over midterms, and get into water gun fights. The fun slice-of-life story includes unlockable event scenes, engaging dialogue, and beautifully illustrated character portraits — all localized in English for the first time.

Physically, Hakuoki SSL ~Sweet School Life~ will be released in both standard and limited editions. Both will sell via Playasia. Two thousand Limited Editions will be produced and are selling quickly; these editions include the game, a manual, a soundtrack CD, an art book, a mini case, a Joy-Con sticker set, acrylic character standees, and a numbered certificate in a collector’s box.
Developed by Idea Factory/Design Factory and published in the West by eastasiasoft, Hakuoki SSL ~Sweet School Life~ will be released digitally for Nintendo Switch on February 12th. Pre-orders of physical copies will ship the same week.
