Sticky Business’s third DLC launches for PC early this week
It has been nearly two years since sticker-based business sim Sticky Business launched for PC. Since then, it also launched for consoles and released two DLC expansion packs, Plan With Me and Camp Zinnias. The new Book of Shadows DLC is set to launch this week, bringing more cozy, witchy vibes to the game. It features enchanting stickers and spellbinding stories.
Book of Shadows includes 84 new stickers (with 34 variations) themed around witches, potions, familiars, and more; 10 new customer stories dealing with love spells, coven friendships, and family magic; eight new goodies to put into your packages, such as crystals and keychains; and six new glitter papers.
Developed by Spellgarden Games and published by Assemble Entertainment, Sticky Business is available for PC via Steam/GOG, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series. The Book of Shadows DLC will be released for PC via Steam./GOG on May 26, and hopefully soon after for consoles.
Old-school turn-based CRPG Shrouded Aspect announced
Challenge the gods themselves in Gilligames’ next title, Shrouded Aspect. It is inspired by Celtic mythology and classic strategy/RPG games like 2003 console cult favourite Gladius. In the game, the fallen god of Death (Despater) has awakened and unleashed a plague across the land. The key to defeating him is Betha, a mysterious girl with a powerful secret. But to do so, she will first have to travel across the lands, rallying townsfolk/survivors and assembling a vanguard strong enough to fight back against a god.
The game’s setting is a dying land steeped in old gods and tragic beauty. The narrative is played out across 32 scenarios, and each playthrough will be different. You get to decide who to save, who to abandon, and what kind of legacy you leave behind. Your party can be formed from a selection of warriors, mystics, and vagabonds. Customize them with scavenged steel and brutal skills. Deep tactical mechanics and cunning use of terrain are required to defeat your foes.
Developed and published by Gilligames, Shrouded Aspect will be released for PC via Steam this year.
Visual novel Truer than You launches for PC this week
Indie game Truer than You in an LGBTQ+ choice-driven visual novel that explores love and loss. It is a spiritual successor to the developer’s first visual novel, Knife Sisters, and set in a vibrant world deep in the clutches of capitalism. Non-binary gig worker Rin works for a secretive company that sends actors into real-life situations. Rin battles when to toe the company line and when to follow their heart. But there’s a catch: they cannot tell anyone they are an actor.
From a press release, the game’s key features include:
- Meet a strong cast of queer-friendly characters as you progress through the story, depicted in a stunning and vibrant visual style.
- Uncover new endings with each playthrough thanks to more than 1,000 dialogue choices.
- Explore relationships and dilemmas on topics such as authenticity, society, and climate change in a game unafraid to examine tough topics.
- Steer conversations or sit back and watch interactions unfold thanks to Truer than You’s unique flowing dialogue choice system.
Developed and published by Transcenders Media, Truer than You will be released for PC via Steam on May 28. It is expected to launch for Nintendo Switch later this year.
