Serene asteroid mining game Exovia announced

Exovia is a serene sandbox game with zero-gravity physics set in a low-stakes 2D space. Despite the low stakes, there are logistics-based puzzles that push you to optimize your resource gathering. As a hard-working space engineer, you must mine asteroids and determine how to return the resources for processing. You’ll need to find the best way to mine, gather, and transport resources with what you have available. Over time, you will upgrade your abilities and go deep into distinct biomes with unique challenges.

The game’s announcement press release states that the gameplay is “driven by a spirit of optimism rather than conquest and fear.” Move at whatever pace you wish. There are set-pieces found in the biomes, and there are long-term missions, so you do you have a raison d’être. Puzzle difficulty will increase as you unlock new technology. You will build, explore, and engineer your way towards activating a warp gate and opening a new frontier in the stars.

Developed and published by ByteRockers’ Games, Exovia will be released in 2026. A demo is available via Steam.

Knock on the Coffin Lid: Complete Edition brings the whodunnit deckbuilder to consoles

Nearly a year after its full PC release, Knock on the Coffin Lid is coming to PlayStation and Xbox with a Complete Edition. The game, described as fantasy-mystery whodunnit RPG wrapped in a deckbuilder, sets you on a path shrouded in mystery. An empty throne awaits its rightful ruler, and the fate of the land is in your hands after you wake up… in your own coffin. Summon allies, cast powerful spells, and beef up your defence using the deck you craft.

This Complete Edition includes the game’s latest expansion. The new chapter, Nightmares of Millenis, promises nearly double the gameplay experience versus the base game. There are new storylines, where you revisit past choices and confront new formidable foes. Use the power of tarot cards to change a battle’s fate.

Developed by RedBoon, Knock on the Coffin Lid: Complete Edition will be released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series on May 21. It is currently available for PC via Steam.

Co-op puzzle game Parallel Experiment launches in June

After being delayed from its initial March release date, Parallel Experiment has a new launch date set for early June. The game requires two players, and each will only have one half of the puzzle. Take on the role of two detectives who often get separated, resulting in uncovering different clues, so you have to work together to solve the puzzles with escape room-like elements. The noir-inspired adventure features a comic-inspired art style.

While following the trail of the dangerous Cryptic Killer, detectives Ally and Old Dog find themselves his new targets and unwilling participants in his twisted experiment. 80 puzzles aim to strike the perfect balance between challenging and fair. The puzzles you solve open the next step for your partner and vice versa. You will redirect water flow, find computer passwords, unlock intricate locks, decipher cryptic ciphers, solder electronic equipment, and, for some reason, wake up drunk. There are also retro-inspired minigames like Three in a Row, reinvented for a co-op experience. Each level has a way for players to annoy each other, such as making their screen shake.

Developed and published by Eleven Puzzles, Parallel Experiment will be released for iOS/Android and PC via Steam on June 5. A Nintendo Switch version will launch later this year. Crossplay is available across all platforms.

Lindsay picked up an NES controller for the first time at the age of 6 and instantly fell in love. She began reviewing GBA games 20 years ago and quickly branched out from her Nintendo comfort zone. She has has developed a great love of life sims and FMV titles. For her, accessibility is one of the most important parts of any game (but she also really appreciates good UI).
