Nearly a year ago, PQube announced it would publish otome crime-solving cinematic visual novel Bustafellows season2 in the West in 2025. And it is making good on that promise! The sequel to Bustafellows (which DDNet Editor-in-Chief Matt describes as being right up there with the best crime fiction works he’s experienced across all forms of media) now has a set release date in mid-July. It will be available digitally for PC and Nintendo Switch, and physically for Nintendo Switch. The first run of physical editions will include an exclusive character booklet, with insight into their creation process and concept art.
Bustafellows season2 is a movie-like experience. This all-new season features the same crime-solving game that players already know and love… the same gang that often has trouble trailing it. Meet new characters, make important decisions, and solve the dark, unspeakable crimes plaguing New Sieg.
Story details remain vague, but here is what PQube has shared so far:

- A Puzzle to Piece Together: five different playable “movies”, different routes corresponding to each male lead, each portraying a different story which you play an integral part in.
- New Flowchart System: review your progress through the story with a helpful flowchart that allows you to select and replay different parts of the story, leaving no stone unturned.
- The Romance Builds: continue your relationship from the last game, growing together through struggles, and learning new sides to Teuta, Limbo, Shu, Helvetica, Mozu and Scarecrow.
- The Power of Visuals: skillfully crafted characters brought to life with beautiful artistry. Experience the characters in new outfits, hairstyles and scenarios!
- An Unforgettable Voice Cast: featuring a cast of famed voices such as Yui Kondo, KENN, Yoshimasa Hosoya, Hiroyuki Yoshino, Jun Fukuyama, and Yusuke Shirai.
- Extra Episodes: collect memorabilia and extra episodes through certain conditions, and even unlock a special episode when playing with an existing save data from the first game!
Developed by Nippon Cultural Broadcasting Extend Inc. and published in the West by PQube, Bustafellows season2 will be released digitally (PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch) on July 17.
