I haven’t been paying super close attention to the mobile gaming world lately, but I did take note when Life Makeover first launched worldwide for iOS and Android this May. At the time, it was already super popular in places like China, Japan, and Singapore; after the global launch, I’ve seen a remarkable amount of people talking about it. Cozy gamers apparently love Life Makeover! Not everyone likes to play games on their phones, though, so I welcome today’s news that the RPG social sim has launched for PC.

Life Makeover features deep character customisation, outfit creation, and house design all wrapped up with an intriguing mystery story. Players can create the character of their dreams with adjustments available for every facial detail, as well as options for skin tone and body type. And the clothes! The clothing is really where this game shines, in my opinion. There are exquisite gowns, glamorous outfits, the latest fashion items, and unique vintage haute couture. Not only can you choose your character’s outfits, but you can also become a stylist and experience the clothing design process including selecting fabrics, adjusting patterns to make exclusive prints, and creating the finished product.

The home is completely customisable as well. There is a huge selection of home furnishings. Real-life simulation allows homes to be built freely; create anything from a luxury apartment to a modern house to a peaceful farmhouse. There’s basic planning, but also personalised layouts and room decoration.

To make the PC launch that much better, the game has unveiled Rose Prayer (a double five-star version). Until December 5, there will be all-new five-star sets like Aphrodite’s Wish and the Lake Spin, and a four-star set called Tranquil Dream. SR bonds have appeared for a limited time, too.

With the launch of the PC version of Life Makeover, the game now supports free cross-platform play across all versions. The PC version does have some upgrades over the mobile versions. There’s been a comprehensive graphics upgrade to enhance details, and there’s an optional full-screen horizontal mode that has an updated interface. The controls have specifically been designed for PC, allowing players to enjoy shortcuts for quick access. The high-fidelity weather system gives the game a new level of immersion thanks to seven different weather effects, each with matching sounds and interactive elements. The multi-dynamic point light system allows players to illuminate up to 256 lights in their homes to create dazzling displays.

Developed and published by Archosaur Games, Life Makeover is available now for iOS/Android and PC via Steam/Epic.

Lindsay picked up an NES controller for the first time at the age of 6 and instantly fell in love. She began reviewing GBA games 20 years ago and quickly branched out from her Nintendo comfort zone. She has has developed a great love of life sims and FMV titles. For her, accessibility is one of the most important parts of any game (but she also really appreciates good UI).
