Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life originally launched as Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life for GameCube and PlayStation 2 back in 2023, before all of the naming rights hubbub began. It’s been one month since its remake launched; in his review, Matt described it has having “heart-meltingly warm good-naturedness” and as a “wholesome masterpiece,” giving it 4.5 stars. To celebrate the month-aversary (because apparently that’s a thing now), a new costume has been added to the game and a new trailer dropped that celebrates the memories created by playing the game.

Return to Forgotten Valley in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life. It’s a tranquil community where folks put down their roots to become a new carefree life of growing crops and raising animals. Hybrid crops are possible. Happy animals reward affection with handy produce to be used in recipes, as gifts, or sold for profits at a market stall.

The game spans an entire generation, as characters will get married, have children, and watch the children grow while wondering if they’ll take over the farm or head off into the big outside world. The player’s character is customizable, and players can choose to be female, male, or non-binary. Regardless of that choice, all eight eligible bachelors and bachelorettes have romantic potential.
Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life weaves a tale of friendship, family, and farming. Compared to the original, there are new events, enhanced festivals, never-before-seen crops, and more recipes to cook up. Returning fans should notice plenty of excising updates, while newcomers will discover the joys of a cozy farm life and characters that make the series shine.
Developed by Marvelous and published by XSEED Games/Marvelous Europe, Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life is available for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series. It is available both physically and digitally, with there also being a physical premium edition that includes an adorable plushie and cloth poster.
