Video: Acquisitions are bad for games and I CANNOT believe this needs to be said

1 min read

There have been several massive acquisitions made in recent weeks, as consolidation in the industry marches ever closer to monopolistic behaviour from a couple of mega-corporations.

What is incredible is that there are people out there that actually believe that this is a good thing, that “gamers” will benefit from fewer companies controlling more, and that more acquisitions are likely to come. Even given how sycophantic consumers can be in gaming, it’s astounding how willing they are to celebrate something that only benefits the executives and shareholders.

That’s what this video is about. My sheer frustration at an industry that is actively embracing monopolies.
