The 24 games of Christmas! Game #8: Fire Emblem Heroes

It’s that time of year again! The decorations are out, the house smells of Christmas thanks to the tree in the living room, presents are sitting under the tree and all the good food is on the table. We do love Christmas at DDNet, and as always, we’re doing an advent calendar of our own on the site. Each day we’re going to list one game that’s just perfect to play over the Christmas season, so be sure to check back each day to get all the gaming suggestions you’ll need for the season.

Game #8: Fire Emblem Heroes

Between organising Christmas gatherings, riding the bus, and waiting for guests to arrive, there are inevitably those moments of downtime where you’ll be twiddling your thumbs. Fire Emblem Heroes is the perfect little way to kill 10 minutes on your phone, especially if you want something a little more stimulating than your average screen-tapper. Intelligent Systems has boiled the beloved tactics series down into a single-screen affair that still demands some mental gymnastics to conquer on occasion. The gacha style method of recruiting new units is a bit like unwrapping a present (just substitute coal for a 3* Bartre).

To make the season extra special, all signs point towards there being a banner with Christmas-themed units such as the one seen above. What better way to spread Christmas cheer than pounding your adversaries with one of the holiday’s most recognisable symbols?
