It’s that time of year again! The Christmas countdown is a tradition at Digitally Downloaded. Like the advent calendars filled with a chocolate each day, with our Christmas countdown we highlight a game each day that is perfect to help you get through the silly season.

Christmas is a time for family and friends, so it’s a good time of year to bust out the multiplayer games. It’s typically a time that people get some holidays, so it’s a good time to knock off some of those RPGs from the backlog.

More than anything else, it’s a good time for gaming. So grab a game or two from our little list and have yourself a Merry Christmas!

Day #17: Minecraft

Now, far be it for us to suggest that you spend all Christmas in front of a screen, when you could instead be out celebrating with family and friends, but if you do find yourself with some time to yourself this Christmas, then you can do far worse than spending your time in Minecraft.

Minecraft is the ultimate way to waste time, because not only is it a lot of fun, but it also works hard to inspire the creative individual buried deep within you. Minecraft isn’t just about consumption; it’s also about creation, and that’s what makes it so valuable; it’s both educational and entertaining.

And now it’s on the Wii U, completing the cycle and ensuring that everyone, regardless of what consoles or games they have, will be able to dig into this.
