Hot on the heels of the upcoming Ashes Cricket game from Aussie developer, Trickstar Games (and the publisher really should hurry up and release this game), another Australian developer is stepping in to attempt to provider the cricket nations around the world a FIFA-beater.

Big Ant, based down in Melbourne, is no stranger to sports games itself, and its trailer for Cricket 14 is looking pretty impressive. The animation, especially, is of a very high quality.

It’s really quite impressive that such a niche interest sport has two games coming out in the same year – even Soccer only has the two main franchises. Fingers crossed both Ashes Cricket and Cricket 14 can ultimately be successful projects, because I like the idea of competition forcing both franchises to improve exponentially with each new game.
