Digitally Downloaded now has a Frequent Flyer Rewards program!

We really appreciate the time you take out of your days to visit us, and even talk to us. Digitally Downloaded forever remains a resource for you, our readers, and now we’ve got a new way to say “thank you.”

Today we launch a rewards program, which we like to think of as the “Digitally Downloaded Frequent Flyers.” It basically works like this – by visiting our site and interacting with us, you’ll earn points. These points will then be redeemable for games and other goods that will be sponsored to us by our publisher and developer friends.

You’ll find the little button you need to click on to get on board on the right hand side of the website – it should be obvious, it’s red and says “rewards.”

At the moment you’ll be able to earn points by visiting us, and Tweeting/ Facebooking us. The way to earn points will expand in the coming days and weeks.

At the moment there’s no real prizes – just a silly way to spend the points that will earn you nothing which we used to get the ball going – but stay tuned to the site (that’s the point, after all). Games will start to appear for redemption very, very shortly. They will be limited in supply, and a case of “first in, best dressed,” so be sure to collect the points as you can!

And, if you’re a developer or publisher that would like to get involved on the sponsorship side of things, please get in touch with me at matts@digitallydownloaded.net

So, thank you again for all the support you have given us over the last 18 months we’ve been around – we hope this new program will keep you coming back for more 🙂

Please note – as features become available on our program, they will be covered by our comments policy – ie. if you can earn points for posting a comment, then please don’t spam us for the sake of earning points. We offer this Frequent Flyers program in good faith, and we’d rather not have to bar people from playing with us.

  • Pretty simple – and truth be told, pretty cool little system to boot. It'll be interesting to see how it develops for you. 🙂

  • Haha, sounds like my "Reader Points". *stares at the boxes, wondering when I'll make another trip to the post office…

I have learned from it though, go DIGITAL. Gift card, digital game, something along those lines…saves you a trip to the post office, and shipping…not to mention it can be "world-wide" in many instances with digital games now.

  • I'm not going to lie, your Reader Points was an inspiration for this. 🙂

And yes, these will be digital rewards. We're just working out some details now, but it'll be game downloads and the like.

Hope you enjoy it, and get a couple of extra games out of it 🙂

  • Sorry to hear that, Thomas. 🙁 I run Chrome myself and I haven't had any problems… I will try and look into it for you – what version of Chrome are you running?

  • it's the latest version. I'm really pretty sure it's the laptop – it has only 1gb of ram, after all, and gets rather slow when I have both Chrome and Firefox open (to the point of me thinking it crashed. again.)

  • hmm, am I the only one who cannot run the rewards tab in Chrome? Firefox works fine. my laptop is rather old, though, so it might just not be able to keep up. in other news: great idea, this!

  • Just got the memo about your new program, mate. Congrats on the new initiative! I won't be participating, solely because of the requirement to use a Facebook login. All the best, though!

  • its sad but true that you would have to ban people that spam the same comment section over and over. people should really just check out the site and read each article, if you have something good to add then comment, if you get points for it cool if not move on. this is a great idea so i hope it doesnt get ruined by trolls lol
