The 24 Games of Christmas! Day #5; Frayed Knights

Seeing green and red? It must be Christmas!

Every year the world patiently (or not-so-patiently) counts down those 24 days to Christmas; there’s even calendars filled with little treats to help keep the young ones patient.

Then the big day rolls around and it’s filled with great food, great company and, of course, presents.

Christmas is the best time of year, and so to do our bit in celebrating we’re doing our own advent calendar. Each day we’ll unveil another game that has touched us in some way over the year – whether because it’s a work of interactive art, laugh-out-loud funny or just so weird it blew our mind.

So be sure to check back each day for a new game suggestion to fill your Christmas break!

20 Days to Go! Frayed Knights

This year we were blessed with the amazingly refreshing and hilarious RPG romp that was Frayed Knights; and in retrospect, it ranks right up there with my favourite games of the year.
In a time where formulae is thrown around more than the hair of JRPG characters, it’s a beautiful crystalline moment of difference in a sea of mediocrity and grey same-ness.
Humour, satire, memorable characters and a total lack of a fourth wall made the very modest GUI a pleasure to play; transcending whatever obvious flaws it may have had. It’s at the very top of my replay list, and I’m very very excited for a sequel. As you might remember, I called dibs on the next one in my review of it found here.
