Valve offering Portal 2 and DOTA 2 free due to Steam hack (fake)

We reported yesterday that certain Steam user information had been compromised, such as passwords and encrypted credit card information. It appears Valve intends to make things right with its customers by offering two high-profile games for free.

We don’t know when the games will roll out, but Valve’s Gabe Newell assures us that it will be “soon”.

Regardless, remember to change your password if you haven’t already done so.
