Konami’s PES kicks it on Windows Phone 7

Here’s a bit of a coup for the Windows Phone 7 platform as a gaming device – owners will now be able to play PES 2011 on it.

As is standard for smart phone soccer games, you’re looking at two control options – touch screen design (with accelerometer to boot!) or virtual control pad for people who enjoy the feel of virtual buttons.

Konami claims the game features “stunning” visuals, with the officially licensed UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europe League competitions.

Best of all for Xbox 360 owners – the game also links in to their Xbox Live achievements for leaderboards and the likes.

The Windows Phone 7 desperately needs more high profile games like this, and perhaps this is a good sign of things to come.
