Asterigos is an action RPG in development for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC, by a rookie developer, Acme Gamestudio, out of Taiwan. Inspired by ancient Roman and Greek aesthetics, Asterigos might not look like it will break any new ground, but from the first look we’ve just had with it, it does look like it will be a competent effort indeed.

The developers are promising an exploration and narrative-heavy experience, with the protagonist able to wield a wild array of weapons (including sword & shield, daggers, spear, hammer, staff and bracelets) so that you can tackle these challenges in the way that suits you best.

Also, you just have to root for the team. Their boilerplate goes as follows: “We believe only with true love for games, and dedications to craft can create a piece that has value in both commercial and in art.”

Seriously. Miku bless them for trying. Asterigos will release in late “spring” (so autumn for those of us on the other hemisphere) for PlayStation 4 and PC, and then “fall” (our spring) for PlayStation 5.
