If any anime property could benefit from going open world, it is One Piece. The anime is about high adventure on the open seas, after all, and what better way to achieve than than to give you the freedom to get yourself involved in adventure on the open seas.

One Piece World Seeker represents a big step forward for the property – or at least an attempt to take the property forward – so hopefully the developer, Ganbarion, can pull it off. It’s a talented developer, that has a deep familiarity with the One Piece property, so we’re hopeful.

There’s not long to wait for the game now – it releases on March 15 throughout the west. Ahead of the launch, Bandai Namco has shared the opening cinematic, and it’s everything that you would expect from a One Piece game.
