Get free Microsoft points with retail purchases

Are you planning to buy a new Xbox 360 game? If so, you’re in luck. Microsoft is offering a deal where you can receive a free 1600 Microsoft Points card with the purchase of a new game.

Although Microsoft claims the deal is on “all” Xbox 360 titles, obviously not all of them will be in stock or even carried by them. You will certainly have trouble hunting down games like Tales of Vesperia. Check out Microsoft’s website for the games compatible with the deal. Highlights include WWE All-Stars, Forza 3, Dead Space 2, and Marvel VS Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds. Some titles run for as low at $US19.99, meaning you’re essentially getting a complete retail game “free” with a purchase of the points card. You can’t go wrong with this $20 value, especially if you were planning to nab a new title anyway.

Unfortunately, the deal is only open to residents of the United States and specifically via the Microsoft Store. At least this saves you from the hassle of making a trip to your local store.

The bargain expires May 15th, so if you want to capitalize on the free points, you must act swiftly. What would you spend your 1600 points on?

*Limited time offer valid from 5/2/11 – 5/15/11 or while supplies last. Discount applies before any applicable taxes and shipping charges. Offer only valid on the US Microsoft Store website; not valid on previous orders or at Microsoft Store retail locations. No cash value. Cannot be combined with any other offer or promotion.
