Top Hat Studios to publish My Ransomware Can’t Be This Cute?!

During its fall showcase, Top Hat Studios announced it will publish My Ransomware Can’t Be This Cute?! for PC. After you download a suspicious .exe file, your computer gets hijacked by a sentient malware, Ransomware-chan. There’s only one way to get rid of her: beat her tense card-flipping deckbuilder about luck and logic.

Here are the game’s features, via Steam:

  • The Ultimate Push-Your-Luck Loop – Read the board carefully, calculate the odds, and deduce where the evil cards hide using your high IQ. Or throw logic out the window and just start flipping random cards. Either way, the punishment for greed is brutal.
  • A Sentient, Bratty Opponent – She has a personality, and she’s not on your side. Expect taunts, fourth-wall breaks, and a retro-PC interface she’ll creatively play with to mess with your head >:3
  • Draft, Upgrade, Break the Game – Discover super-duper overpowered combos!! Ransomware-chan will reward you for breaking the game ^w^ Draft your deck carefully to bend the rules of probability (or expected value if you’re a smartass) in your favour.
  • Retro-PC Aesthetic – Immerse yourself in a highly stylized operating system environment. Woooah epileptic 2000s vaporwave fever dream 😮
  • Deep Replayability – Unpredictable malware behaviour, super wacky card interactions, and endless deck archetypes keep every run fresh.
  • Every Flip Hits Different – That tense feeling before gambling everything on a single card-flip… we’ve tuned the gameplay to maximize the intense relief of flipping good cards, and the heart-attack-inducing fear of flipping bad cards.

Developed by The Seppuku Commission and published by Top Hat Studios, My Ransomware Can’t Be This Cute?! is in development for PC via Steam.

Barbie meets PowerWash Simulator this December

FuturLab has announced an early December release date for PowerWash Simulator 2’s next DLC, the Barbie Pack. The iconic Barbie doll is known for being anything she puts her mind to — including a powerwasher! The DLC includes five levels, each covered in grime and awaiting restoration to its pristine plastic self.

What is Barbie without a wardrobe? She’s got a sleek new look that can be accessorized with practical and chic tools. Levels include the DreamHouse elevator and the Dream Camper. The DLC can be played in split-screen co-op or with up to four people in Free Play.

Developed and published by FuturLab, PowerWash Simulator 2 is available for PC via Steam/Epic/Microsoft, PlayStation 5, Switch 2, and Xbox Series. The Barbie Pack will be released on December 3.

The second part of Pokopia’s expansion pass launches next month

Game Freak, Koei Tecmo, and The Pokémon Company have announced that Pokopia’s Expansion Pass Part 2: Dazzling Decorations will launch in early December. The DLC includes new accessories, new furniture, and new Pokémon. It does not include a new town.

There are a few prerequisites for Expansion Pass Part 2. The software must be updated to the free 3.0.0 version. You need to have completed the important requests “Raise the environment level!” and “Rebuild the Pokémon Center!” in Withered Wasteland, as well as Drifloon’s request, “Find a doll!”

Developed by Game Freak and Koei Tecmo, and published by The Pokémon Company, Pokopia is available for Switch 2. Expansion Pass Part 2: Dazzling Decorations will be released on December 9.

Thrifty Business is coming to Switch!

Spellgarden has announced a Switch version of its cozy thrift shop management sim, Thrifty Business. The game puts you in charge of a 90s-inspired vintage thrift store. Complete requests for customers by searching through purchased boxes of pre-loved items, and put the rest on the shelves for your customers to snap up. It’s not just a thrift shop, though: it’s also a community space that brings people together.

Unlock furniture, decorations, wallpapers, and floors. Adjust your layout and organize your shelves. Group wares however you like; I do it by type, but what about colour? Or purpose? As business grows, you can expand into new, adjacent rooms. The game is quite chill: there’s no price-setting, haggling, or impatient customers.

Developed and published by Spellgarden, Thrifty Business is available for PC/Mac via Steam. Its Switch version has no release date attached.

Lindsay picked up an NES controller for the first time at the age of 6 and instantly fell in love. She began reviewing GBA games 20 years ago and quickly branched out from her Nintendo comfort zone. She has has developed a great love of life sims and FMV titles. For her, accessibility is one of the most important parts of any game (but she also really appreciates good UI).
