Get the original Castlevania for free on iOS/Android
To celebrate the series’ 40th anniversary, Konami launched the original Castlevania title for iOS and Android last week. It is available for free, but has a limited distribution time; it will only be available until October 24. After that, anyone who downloaded the game can continue playing.
Here are the game’s key features, via the store pages:
- The deep, rich Castlevania history that began with this original game.
- The fated confrontation between Dracula and unforgettable action hero Simon Belmont that played out with a horrific twist, groundbreaking for its time.
- The dark, vast world of Castlevania that canonized the iconic whip-wielding character moves of Simon Belmont and the classic music tracks.
- Intense, hard-to-beat action platformer that inspired a long-running and beloved franchise.
- Direct port of the original title with visual touchpad and playable offline.
Developed and published by Konami, Castlevania is now available for iOS/Android. It can be downloaded until October 24.
Alpha Nomos launches next month
Alpha Nomos, the rhythm-action roguelite where every attack, dodge and ability locks to the beat, will launch in October. It will be coming to consoles in addition to its previously announced PC version. The game is set in a world where time and space have collapsed. Follow Cello through abandoned cities and a corrupted circus, fighting puppets along the way. What has happened to these friendly puppets?
Here are the game’s key features, via RibCage Games:
- Beat-Synced Combat – Every attack, dodge and ability locks to the beat, and landing your hits on rhythm is what makes them hit harder.
- Live Instruments – Each weapon sound is a real studio recording rather than a sample library, so you can hear a person playing behind every strike.
- Audio Powerups – Reverb, Flanger, Delay, and 4 more reshape both how Cello fights and how the soundtrack sounds while she does it.
- Roguelite Runs – Fight through advancing arenas and build out upgrades that carry across each run into the next.
- Puppetcore – Explore ruined cities and a corrupted circus filled with enemies that were once part of something whole.
- Original Score – The soundtrack comes from Totem Warriors, recorded live to sit inside the game’s rhythm systems.
- Accessible – A timing offset lets players of every skill level tune the game so it feels rewarding rather than punishing.
Developed and published by RibCage Games, Alpha Nomos will be released for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series on October 12.
Sanrio Games announces its first smartphone title
Sanrio’s new games development label, Sanrio Games, has announced its first smartphone title. Sanrio Kawaii Me Live! is a dance and rhythm game. The free-to-play title lets you jam alongside Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, My Melody, and more. Customize outfits and stages, and groove to original songs from collaborating artists.
Pre-registration is open now, and different rewards will unlock upon launch depending on the number achieved.
- 50,000 registrations: Cosmo Soda (L) ×10 (An item that restores Live Boost)
- 100,000 registrations: Kawamilite ×3,000 + Time Travel Ticket × 10 (in-game currency and items that can be used to reduce crafting time)
- 200,000 registrations: 1-star Accessory Set (One set per character. Available for 15 characters.)

MR. RECORDS is coming to PlayStation and Xbox
Originally, MR. RECORDS was announced for PC and Switch 2. Now, Glee-Cheese Studio and Wired Productions have announced that it will also launch for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. The companies also announced that a PC demo is available now.
