Developer and publisher Bandai Namco has revealed a new walkthrough trailer for Code Vein II, highlighting Revenant Josée Anjou and offering a deeper look at the game’s world and story. The narrative-driven journey explores past and present versions of the world, where the player can wield time as a weapon. Bandai Namco has also announced a Character Creator demo for the game, launching one week before the game itself.

The Character Creator demo offers players 64 save slots that can be transferred into the final game. Here, they can experience the game’s customization system for the game’s protagonist, Revenant Hunter. Customize the character using an array of settings for body type, hairstyle, facial expressions, accessories, makeup, and more. Players can then visit the hot spring at the MagMell Institute to view their character in different lighting environments; they can also use Photo Mode to capture and save their creations.

Here is a description of this week’s trailer, from Bandai NamcoL

The trailer takes players 100 years into the past, where the Revenant Hunter protagonist joins Josée Anjou on a mission to save the Sunken City and uncover the truth behind its crisis. Haunted by guilt, Josée’s story reveals the heavy burden she carries, and the epic battles that await. The trailer introduces the Sunken Pylon, a vast dungeon that holds the key to purifying the Sunken City. As they explore, players will experience combat across seven distinct weapon types ranging from agile dual blades to the devastating power of the halberd. The trailer also further highlights the Restorative Offering, a mechanic where partners can restore the fallen Revenant Hunter with recovered health, though a cooldown leaves them temporarily incapacitated and unable to assist in battle.

Developed and published by Bandai Namco, Code Vein II will be released for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series on January 30, 2026. The Character Creator demo will launch for PC on January 22 and consoles on January 23.
