Planet 47 Games has released a new trailer for its upcoming cryptid simulation game, Bigfoot Life. In the game, players take on the role of the legendary creature also known as Sasquatch. In addition to the trailer, there are new screenshots of the game on Steam. The game will be participating in Steam Next Fest, with a short demo launching on June 9; it includes a small section of the map and some of the features of the game, hinting at what it will be like to be the beast itself in a larger world.
Bigfoot is a large, hairy, mysterious creature known to inhabit wild forests worldwide. It falls into the category of cryptid, an animal believed to exist by many but that hasn’t been scientifically proven yet. Other cryptids include the Loch Ness Monster, Mothman, bunyips, the Igopogo, and chupacabras. Since Bigfoot hasn’t been proven to exist, we don’t actually know what it is like to live as Bigfoot, but Bigfoot Life’s developer seems to have gotten a lot right based on my knowledge.
Survive as Bigfoot by catching and eating fish, insects, and other creatures. Since you cannot survive on protein alone, forage for mushrooms and berries in the forests. Shelters will help store your items through harsh winters. Evolve as Bigfoot, acquiring skills like Bigfoot Vision, Speed, Portals, and Fog. You can earn extra points by breaking branches and scaring wildlife. You can also earn points (and complete tasks) by stealing items owned by Bigfoot hunters, humans who want to photograph you.
