AI: The Somnium Files is one of the best games of the last generation, and it has been a real snowball-down-the-mountain deal. It launched without too much fanfare, but after the first wave of people played it and absolutely loved it for its taut writing and incredible characters, word of mouth spread. Anticipation for the sequel is much higher, and now Spike Chunsoft has released a new trailer in the lead up to the game’s imminent release.
This is a “character trailer,” which really means it just runs through each character you’ll interact with in the game and give you a soundbite or two. I know that personally I’m very much looking forward to Kizuna. She intrigues me.
More generally, though, it looks like there will be a great roster, just like the original game did. AI: The Somnium Files was a pitch-perfect combination of some extremely dark mysteries and some excellent surrealistic humour, and I would expect that we will get more of that with this one.
The game releases on June 24 – just a month away! It will be on Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (Via Windows 10 and Steam).
