24 Games Of Christmas! Day #11: Operation WinBack

2 mins read

As has become an annual tradition at DDNet, we are here to help you count down towards Christmas! One new game every day for the 24 days from December 1 to Christmas Eve. Think of it as a kind of Advent Calendar, if you will, giving you new tips and ideas for games to pick up and play at that rare time of year where everyone does have a little more time to indulge their favourite hobbies.

Also, it’s an excuse to post pictures of cute anime girls in Christmas gear every day. I won’t deny that we love doing that too.

Day #11: Operation WinBack

As we’ve said in a couple of entries in our countdown so far this year, Christmas is the perfect time for nostalgia. Nintendo’s N64 Classics library on the Nintendo Switch was one of the more controversial events of the year for various reasons (most of them nonsense), but for those of us that could rise above that we had the joy of reliving what was, for many of us, many Christmasses growing up – the Nintendo 64!

My brothers and I actually got Operation Winback as a Christmas gift one year, and it quickly became one of our favourite games on the console. A brilliant single-player game, and even more brilliant multiplayer experience, Operation Winback is a fond memory, and when we catch up again this year I’m fully expecting that we’ll all give that another whirl for old time’s sake.
