The Risen sequel, Risen 2: Dark Waters, is all set to storm the shores of your PC today with swashbuckling a plenty.
R2 looks like it’s night and day different than the ambitious first installment of the series. Risen had a dark fantasy theme and was maybe a little too broad reaching for it’s own good… Risen 2 though, that’s another story.
The pirate themed action/RPG looks like it shaped up very nicely indeed.
Dark Waters is available now in digital format only in the US- boxed copies are out everywhere else. Waiting for the console release? PS3 and Xbox 360 versions will be walking the plank in short order, expect ’em at the end of July.
I'm… on the fence about this. I really didn't like the first Risen personally, and while there's things about this that seem interesting to me, I felt the same way about the original – until I played it.
