Seeing green and red? It must be Christmas!
Every year the world patiently (or not-so-patiently) counts down those 24 days to Christmas; there’s even calendars filled with little treats to help keep the young ones patient.
Christmas is the best time of year, and so to do our bit in celebrating we’re doing our own advent calendar. Each day we’ll unveil another game that has touched us in some way over the year – whether because it’s a work of interactive art, laugh-out-loud funny or just so weird it blew our mind.
So be sure to check back each day for a new game suggestion to fill your Christmas break!
Looking to burn a little time? Or maybe just burn a few virtual people, to blow off a little steam? Or maybe you just want to relax and enjoy some gorgeous virtual landscapes? What better game to do all three of those than a game that features volcanoes and floods, puzzles and problem-solving? Enter From Dust.
Back when I reviewed From Dust, I believed I had stumbled across something special; it was a game that conjured feelings in me I hadn’t experienced since playing Shadow of the Colossus, and I consider that game the best of all time. Equal parts puzzler, drama, god game, sandbox and art, From Dust certainly fits that same style of game – and not many titles can say that.
From Dust is perhaps not for everyone but the people who it is for will fall so in love with it that they won’t be able to pull themselves away. The visuals are fantastic and the experience is one of a kind. There really isn’t anything else quite like it – give it a shot and see for yourself. I promise, you won’t regret it.
