It has been six long years since Fate/EXTRA Record was announced. It’s also been delayed, as it was originally scheduled to launch in 2025, then in spring 2026. Luckily, it now has a firm release date, and it’s sooner than the release window implied. Fate/EXTRA Record will be released in late January 2027 for PC, PlayStation, and Switch.
The original Fate series RPG returns with a thrilling story, spectacular visuals, and a strategic battle system. It is a tale of war, where the magi of the modern age risk their lives to attain their heart’s desire. You will fight for survival in the Holy Grail War, where Masters and Servants clash. The prize? The Holy Grail, an omnipotent artifact said to grant any wish. The War takes place within SE.RA.PH, a vast digital world hidden on the moon. 128 pairs of Masters and Servants battle in the contest fuelled by their bonds and desires.
As a Master, explore dungeons within the digital world to strengthen your Servant. You will encounter rival pairs and clash. Gather information on your opponents, discover their True Names, and gain an advantage in the final battle on the last day. The battles are highly strategic, with fast-paced action and spectacular skill animations.
Pre-orders are currently open for three editions of the game. The Standard Edition is available digitally and physically, and includes a copy of the game. The Limited Edition is available physically and includes a copy of the game, a three-disc original soundtrack in a SteelBook case, and an art book. The Digital Deluxe edition is, as the name implies, available digitally. It includes a copy of the game, a Fate/EXTRA Arranged Background Music Pack, the Servant and Player Special Outfits Bundle, a digital soundtrack, and a digital artbook.
Developed by Meteorise and TYPE-MOON, published digitally by Aniplex and physically by XSEED Games/Marvelous Europe, Fate/EXTRA Record will be released for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Switch 2, and Switch on January 28, 2027.
