Koei Tecmo and Team NINJA have announced the definitive edition of Dead or Alive 6, titled Dead or Alive 6 Last Round. The game originally launched in 2019, and in the new version, players can transfer over DLC costumes, premium tickets, and save data. The new game and a free-to-play version, Dead or Alive 6 Last Round Core Fighters, will launch for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox in June.
This version has been optimized for the latest hardware. It includes 24 characters plus five characters from DLC: Nyotengu, Phase 4, Momiji, Rachel, and Tamaki. Mai Shiranui and Kula Diamonds, also from DLC, are not included. (So much for definitive.) Popular characters, including Kasumi and Marie Rose, will each receive five costumes inspired by other Team NINJA titles (yes, one of them is Dead or Alive Xtreme Venus Vacation). Dead or Alive 6 Last Round also adds a photo mode.
Dead or Alive 6 Last Round Core Fighters includes Marie Rose, Honoka, and NiCO from launch. Photo modes and two online modes (DOA Quest and DOA Central) will be playable, but to play the story, players will have to purchase DLC.
New costumes and characters will be revealed throughout the year following the launch of Dead or Alive 6 Last Round and Dead or Alive 6 Last Round Core Fighters. Hopefully, they won’t be DLC for the definitive edition because, again, that would make the game anything but definitive.
Developed by Team NINJA and published by Koei Tecmo, Dead or Alive 6 Last Round will be released for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series on June 25. Dead or Alive 6 Last Round Core Fighters will launch simultaneously.
