In Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival, fans say goodbye to the Lament Configuration puzzle box and say hello to a new box: the Genesis Configuration. This new chapter in the legendary horror series is a first-person action-horror-survival game that follows Aiden, who must use the power of the Genesis Configuration to help his girlfriend escape an otherworldly hellscape. The game will launch for PC and consoles later this year.

The trailer is age-restricted, but you can view it here after confirming that you’re aware of its content.

Here is a brief description of the game, via Boss Team Games:

Descend into the darkest depths of the underworld to rescue your love from the depraved clutches of the Cenobites in a terrifying new story in the Hellraiser universe. Face your deepest fears against deviant monsters, cultists and creatures with the infernal powers of the Genesis Configuration puzzle box and an arsenal of earthly weapons.

The Genesis Configuration can be used both in combat and for puzzles. Outside of combat, it is used to transform parts of the Labyrinth, opening new paths forward. Manipulating it can also be invaluable to solving puzzles in the mortal realm.

However, the Genesis Configuration really shines in combat. Players banish enemies to gather their Suffering. It also unleashes a variety of abilities: Telekinesis, Pyrokinesis, and Hell Chains. Using Telekinesis, throw spikes and other objects at enemies. Pyrokinesis absorbs incandescent fire to burn away foes and the environment. Finally, summon the iconic Hell Chains to tear your opponents apart. (This is all very violent, if it wasn’t already obvious.)

Developed by Boss Team Games and published by Saber Interactive, Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival will be released for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series this year.
