Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 picks up right where players left off in its predecessor, taking players to new locations in a branching, single-player campaign. There are more guns, more enemies, and more exploration than before. Today, as part of the Warhammer Skulls Showcase 2026, Auroch Digital and Big Fan Games announced a demo for the game, plus revealed a new gameplay trailer.
The new footage in the trailer showcases the white-knuckle strafing thrills and devastating arsenal fans can expect from the game.
Here is a description of the demo, via Auroch Digital and Big Fan Games:
Jump into the free demo now to explore two different levels as either of Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2’s playable characters, the tanky powerhouse Malum Caedo or the agile, blade-wielding Nyra Veyrath, while experiencing this fast, action-heavy blast into the world of Warhammer 40,000. Face the perilous wilds of a Death World and explore an overgrown mangrove swamp swarmed with deranged Nurgle daemons and cultists. But enemy forces aren’t the only dangers you’ll need to watch out for…
The demo also transports you to a frozen battlefield where you’ll visit an icy Imperial facility overrun with the forces of Chaos. There you’ll battle the new Khorne enemies – if you dare to break the ice.
In Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2, each playable warrior offers unique weapons, abilities, and play styles. Battle foes such as the sassy Nurglings and Chaos Cultists, plus all-new enemies. It turns out, the Bloodletters and their Juggernauts are just the beginning—greater terror awaits in the Emperor’s endless war.
Developed by Auroch Digital and published by Big Fan Games (a Devolver Digital company), Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 will be released for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series sometime this year. The demo is now available for PC via Steam.
