The weekly discussion: Your favourite characters!

1 min read

From the very earliest eras of game development, characters have been critical to the experience.

Would Space Invaders be the same game if it didn’t have those sprites that, in two frames of animation had so much personality that we still instantly recognise them now? Would Nintendo be in the place it is today without Mario? Not likely.

Characters have become far more complex in recent years, and they remain the focal point with which we engage with most games.

So this week let’s celebrate the characters that we have become so attached to. What are your favourite characters, and why?

Happy gaming!
