Shogi is an excellent, if under-appreciated game in the west. Real Time Battle Shogi makes Shogi an action e-sports thing, and while it might sound beyond strange on paper, in action this thing is remarkably compelling… even if it’s difficult to get a game going online.

Even if you can’t get a game going online, however, the offline multiplayer and AI battles are enough to make this game an excellent teaching tool to help you learn the ins and outs of “Japanese Chess”. In this video I give you a look at what to expect from the game and chat about Shogi more broadly.
