Akiba’s Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed – Why I love this game

It’s fan service, it’s satire, and it’s fun! Akiba’s Trip took the whole hikikomori trend in Japan, as well as the social and cultural concerns that have come from it, and spun it into an entertaining PSP game about a decade ago. Now it has been remastered and released in the west for the first time.

Sure, it shows its age in places, but the game is great fun, with a wild sense of humour about the fan service, and is an authentic enough depiction of Akihabara to get me feeling a bit homesick from that one-of-a-kind place.

Join me as I preview the game ahead of my full review closer to the game’s release!
