Merry Christmas, everyone!

It has been one exhausting year. Just about everyone found 2020 stressful, challenging, tiring and frightening. It hasn’t been easy, but it is our hope that every single one of you have a wonderful Christmas. Enjoy the time that you can spend with family – whether that be socially distanced or, where it’s safe to do so, in person. Be responsible and safe, but take this moment to enjoy all the good things in life.

It has been a big year for DDNet. We’ve started to develop the YouTube/video side of our coverage. The visual novels have grown in scope and design. We’ve had our best year for traffic by a significant margin, and we’ve been fortunate to have the best readers and supported in the games space. We’re a little different here and try and celebrate the games that most other websites don’t. It does mean that sometimes we end up on the outer and at odds, and even once or twice end up being controversial in a way that is really unintended (never write art criticism of big blockbuster games). But I hope we’ve been interesting and helpful, and helped you to make the most of the hobby.

We’ll be back in 2021, of course. The team’s going to take a bit of a break for a few weeks – we’ll still be publishing things, but not at the same rate, because Miku knows that we need a break too.

Have a big glass of eggnog for us (or your Christmas drink of choice), and have a wonderful day. We love you all, and we wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for our amazing readers!

Matt and the DDNet team.
