Lapis x Labyrinth is shaping up to be a delight

The workhorse publisher, NISA, never seems to take a break with releases… but as long as they look as charming as Lapis x Labyrinth I’m not exactly complaining about the sheer workload of playing all these titles. NISA’s released a new trailer for the game, and it looks like it’s going to be all kinds of silly fun.

Lapis x Labyrinth is a 2D hack ‘n slash JRPG with a unique mechanic; in addition to taking control of your main hero (drawn from eight cute class options) to beat down on large hordes of enemies, you can “stack” other heroes on top of your main, as though they were some kind of hat. With 4,096 different combination of “hat allies” to chose between, Lapis x Labyrinth is promising a great deal of customisation indeed.

The game releases on May 29 in the US for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, with slightly different dates for other parts of the world.
