Ho, ho, ho, and Merry Christmas!

Christmas is a wonderful time of year. If you’re in the north then you get to enjoy snow, hot drinks, the wonderful colours of decorations and the smell of a freshly-cut Christmas tree. If you’re south of the equator, it means blistering hot weather, beer, and the wonderful colours of decorations and the smell of a freshly-cut Christmas tree.

Christmas is a time for good food, family, and friends. It’s a time for celebration, and Christmas is the time of year where it’s okay to be a kid all over again, and count down the days to gifts and celebrations one day at a time. Each year we get into the spirit of the season ourselves with a countdown of our own; the 24 Games of Christmas!

So please do join in the countdown with us, crack open some great games, and enjoy the season!

Game #11: Dead Or Alive Xtreme 3
(Read our review here)

This might not be a game that you want to pull out when the family is around, but Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 is the perfect Christmas game because it’s so summery. I’ll explain; in the northern hemisphere you’re all gearing up for your winter wonderlands, but below the equator we look forward to blistering hot suns and all that entails for our Christmas celebrations. For us, Christmas (or at least Boxing Day) is all about beaches, bikinis and beach volleyball.

Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 actually does a good job of recreating the kind of holiday we celebrate in Australia/ New Zealand/ Africa/ South America. We relax from the heat, play outdoorsy sports, and generally try and get as close to a large body of water as possible.

And for all our buddies north of the equator, if you play this game you’ll almost forget how cold it is. Come join us in celebrating out kind of Christmas!
