Welcome to Digitally Downloaded’s weekly news feature, Catch-up coffee Monday. Each Monday we will bring you the best news from the previous week that you may have missed. Grab the biggest mug you’ve got, fill it with your favourite brew, and catch up with us (and our favourite news anchor, Dee Dee)!

Fairy Fencer F: Advent Dark Force release date announced

Let’s start this week’s CUC with some short and sweet news, shall we? Fairy Fencer F: Advent Dark Force will be released for PlayStation 4 on 26 July and 29 July in North America and Europe, respectively. Idea Factory has also released the opening movie of the game to get us hyped. The above video is for the European opening, but there is a North American version available as well.

Ubisoft announces real-time strategy game Champions of Anteria

Champions of Anteria is developed by Blue Byte, an Ubisoft Studio. The above YouTube trailer’s description of the setting is worth a chuckle: “Welcome to Anteria, a magical kingdom that’d be rather delightful if it wasn’t enslaved by a bloodthirsty horde of enemy factions that have more evil tricks than you can imagine.” This tactical real-time strategy game allows players to use the powers of five champions to defeat enemies and reclaim their kingdom. Each champion is skilled with using one main elemental power (fire, lightning, metal, nature, and water), and three champions are used per mission based on what powers they can bring to battle. Champions of Anteria will be available as a digital download for PC on 30 August.

Play as down-on-his-luck police officer in Beat Cop

11 bit studios (the developer behind This War of Mine) has teamed up with an indie studio formed by a handful of former Witcher devs — Pixel Crow — to bring the world Beat Cop. Explore the darkest corners of New York City as Jack Kelly, a former detective who has been framed (and for murder, nonetheless). As such, he is stuck being a beat cop; his job now consists of writing tickets and reprimanding jaywalkers. Jack needs to find the truth about who framed him with balancing a jerk of a new boss, a money-hungry wife, and hiding from the mafia. The graphics, the sound effects, the setting, the music… it all just seems perfectly suited to the game. Beat Cop will be released on PC during the fourth quarter of this year.

I Am Setsuna coming this summer/winter

I’d like to end this week’s Catch-up much like it began, with some short but very sweet news. Despite which season July falls in for you, it’s set to be an epic month. Not only will Fairy Fencer F: Advent Dark Force be released, but Tokyo RPG Factory’s I Am Setsuna is set to land on 19 July for both the PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam. I Am Setsuna tells the story of Setsuna but the main playable character in her bodyguard, Endir (both are pictured above). The game promises art and design reminiscent of gems from the golden era of JRPGs, with Chrono Trigger’s battle system specifically being referenced as inspiration.

Does any of this news tickle your fancy or make you steaming mad? Let us know in the comments! And meet us again next week for a new edition of Catch-up coffee Monday.
