Koei Tecmo announces an Attack on Titan game based on the famed anime

Just because there isn’t a name for the game yet doesn’t mean it isn’t something to get excited about! Koei Tecmo has announced they are collaborating with Kodansha to publish an action game developed by Omega Force based on the Attack on Titan manga and anime. Omega Force are the developers behind the Warriors series, and this game has a similar feel but with a twist: instead of one warrior battling hoards of enemies, you control hundreds of people and are attacking just one (a titan). Here’s the unnamed game's teaser trailer:

Hisashi Koinuma (Koei Tecmo Games president and head of the project) has released the following statement regarding the game:
"I am very happy to reveal we have started developing a new action game based on the phenomenally successful 'Attack on Titan'! Having evolved from a manga/anime series to an internationally recognised brand, we were enchanted by the opportunity to create our own take on humanity’s last stand against these overwhelmingly powerful beings, the Titans. Although there is still a long wait until this game is released in 2016, our studios are already pouring all of their passion and excitement into it and we hope to reveal more information soon! In the meantime, prepare for battle! The Titans are coming."

The game is expected to be released in Japan this winter and in the West during 2016 – a big window of time, yes, but it’s not that far away! It will be available on three Sony consoles: PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita.
