The latest Metal Gear title hits the PlayStation online store for your downloading pleasure.

Metal Gear Rising Revengeance has launched to some pretty positive word of mouth. The more action-oriented Metal Gear title features cyber-ninja Raiden as he strikes out for revenge and cuts some very big holes in anything that gets in his way.

The PSN edition of the game (that’s also available at retail) will also include access to the upcoming PS3 exclusive VR missions. Pretty much every Metal Gear fan probably has some fond memories of the challenging virtual reality mission sets from past ‘Gear titles and the PlayStation 3 version of Rising gets dibs on the newest set.

Free at launch, the DLC will add a pretty impressive 30 missions to Rising- all cast in that classic Metal Gear Solid: The VR Missions look. In the words of the press release, “the pack is pure, uncut gameplay that introduces a host of unique new challenges that will push Raiden’s skills to its limits.” So I’m going to guess that they’re pretty challenging then.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is available now from Konami on the PSN for $59.99 USD. The VR mission pack will post on the 3rd of April and will be free for a limited time- so grab it quick!
