The weekly discussion: What DLC and Microtransactions do you buy?

After reviewing Real Racing 3, it’s become evident to me that there is a right way, and a wrong way to approach DLC.

In principle DLC should be able to extend the life of a loved game, offering additional material that complements the main game.

At other times, developers and publishers lock important content behind DLC paywalls, meaning that unless players fork out more money they’re not going to get the full game experience. The idea of microtransactions for free-to-play games essentially relies on this model.

So this week we’re going to talk about DLC – what DLC do you like and have you bought in the past? What DLC interests you?

Happy gaming!
